I could talk all day about euthanasia. Dont get me started

First of all the title is a quote from Dale Denton in Pineapple express. Anyways, on to my topic of today, which is euthanasia. From what I have learned, there is two types of euthanasia. Assisted and unassisted. I'm sure they have better names then that but that is what im going to call them now. Assisted is where a physician will assist a patient in pretty much killing themselves. There are plenty of ways this can occur, and I will not get into all of them becuase some are somewhat nasty and I do not feel as explaining all that. The other type is unassisted(like I said im sure it has a better name). This is where someone may not receive the proper needs to living like being on lifesupport or etc... Even though this basis I have given is not the greatest, I want to get onto my point about euthanasia. My view on unassisted euthanasia is more along the lines of it being immoral. To me, doctors and physicians have the job of making our lives better and healthier, not ending them. So, when I hear of doctors being the ones that would pull you off lifesupport, you are in control of when a person dies. You may want to pull someone off lifesupport becuase they are in a coma and have been in it for awhile. But is that not still life laying in that bed? Is that not still a human being that God has created? Doesnt God have a plan for everyone? My point is that God is the one who should be the one calling them home. One point that is brought up is that the person may want to die because they are in so much pain the just want it all to end. Isaiah 26:3 states: You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. I feel as if you are in so much pain, more than God believes is too bearable for you to handle by yourself, he will call you home or heal you, or do whatever is in His will to better you and His kingdom. For people who play devil's advocate, you may ask me...How I can believe that euthanasia is wrong but capital punishment is okay. Well that sounds like another blog update at a later time.

please, please give me your views and opinions if you read this!

As I look outside my window I first of all notice all the snow on the ground. After I get past that, I see all the other things that are out my window. I would usually just see a bird or a tree or sometimes even people walking down the street, but as I looked out today, I saw it all as the beautiful creations of God. When you look around you in your everyday life, you will see all sorts of beautiful creations that God has blessed us with. I hope that atleast up to this point, everyone has agreed with me. Now, this is possibly where people will turn the opposite direction as what I say, while others may think I make a valid point. Either way, I still want to hear all opinions and get a better idea on what people think of homosexuality and Christianity. When we debated in class, I feel as if just about all students thought that homosexuality was morally wrong and also a sin. It was debated back and forth and one side decided (correct me if im wrong) that: Christians can live a lifestyle of homosexuality becuase God died for all people and God will forgive them if they ask for forgiveness and repent. The point was made, how could God turn someone away who believes in Him and has accepted Him and has asked for forgiveness. When I heard this, at first started to think about the concept of that. I know God loves all and God makes no mistakes and His will will be done, but is it possible that God would turn someone away. After thinking about this, I decided that instead of God turning away, it would be the human being who would turn away. This is what I believe my side felt: That a Christian could not be a homosexual and practice the lifestyle of it becuase it would be serving two masters. The debate started to get a little heated as questions flew across the room frm both sides. I started to read through my Bible and looked up passages that could support my argument. I found chapter 6 of the book of Romans and this really spoke to me. Here is Romans 6:
I got this from Biblegateway.com

Romans 6 (New International Version)

Romans 6

Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ
1What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase? 2By no means! We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? 3Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

5If we have been united with him like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection. 6For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body of sin might be done away with,a]">[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7because anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

8Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

Slaves to Righteousness
15What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! 16Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? 17But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. 18You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.

19I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. 20When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. 21What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! 22But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. 23For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life inb]">[b] Christ Jesus our Lord.

After reading this, I feel stronger about what I believe, but you may not and that is perfectly fine. All I hope for is that whatever you believe, you get your basis for it from the Bible becuase that is the Truth. Oh yeah, one last thing I forgot about. Another point that was made from the opposite side is that no sin is greater than another in God's eyes excpet fro blasphemy of the Holy Spirt and God. Now, for me that means that if you continue to live a litestyle of the same sin over and over again, I BELIEVE ( this is only my opinion) that you are not truly saved. IF saved, you would be repenting and trying to change becuase you would see the sin in homoesexuality and what to turn away from that and turn to God! As Romans 6 said:

11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. 12Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. 14For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

Now that I have given my view on it, I would like to hear what everyone else believes. I know we already had this debate in class, but I will also like other people that were not in that class to give their opinion and also have people who were in that class have the opition to say something in a little less heated area.

Overview of my blog

Ever since we started debates in my Senior Thesis class, I have wondered about what my worldview is. Also knowing that I have to write a paper about that very soon, I thought it would be fit if I started to mold my view together and just start posting my thoughts and beliefs on different topics. I would like this to be open to anyone and everyone so I can get different, and maybe even the same, views on all the topics.
